Artist Statement:

DAWN developed as a way to explore my authentic movement using a song that has long been in the back of my mind. I am currently exploring my relationship with dance, deepening my knowledge, investigating my motivations, and working to understand how my body wants to express movement. The song “Aurora Borealis” has always prompted a visual light show in my mind – something that I experience visually as well as audibly. DAWN manifests the music with movement and stillness, allowing touchstones of codified formats and vocabulary to find altered trajectories of expression. The wide open spaces selected as filming locations represent the limitless options that new beginnings offer. All directions lead somewhere and all choices are on the table. Like the light illuminating the earth during the sunrise, a new dance era is dawning in my life.
